Funding for ending migrant destitution

We want to see an immigration system that is humane, fair, accessible and champions settlement and citizenship.

We have temporarily closed applications for our Ending migrant destitution priority while we review where our resources are best placed to support organisations during this time. We'll share an update shortly.

London has a long history of welcoming migrant and refugee communities.

Migrant Londoners are a central part of the lifeblood of the city - they help keep London running and thriving. Yet many are pushed into poverty and destitution because of their immigration status.

Punitive policies such as No Recourse to Public Funds and unaffordable visa fees make it harder for people to build stable lives. At the same time, migrants are too often scapegoated for deep-rooted societal problems.

We want to see a London where everybody can succeed, no matter their background.

Our city is home to diasporas from every corner of the globe. That makes us a target for those who despise multicultural life. But it’s also our greatest strength.
