A loan of £160,000 to purchase a new safe-house for female survivors of trafficking and exploitation.

About Ella’s

Ella’s is a London-based organisation working with women who have survived trafficking and sexual exploitation. It provides safe house accommodation, care, and long term community-based support to survivors.

There’s a lack of intensive, long-term support for survivors of trafficking and exploitation. And without the right support, survivors can be pushed into poverty and back into danger. Ella’s work meets this urgent need, providing support for the most traumatised survivors of trafficking and exploitation, when they need it most.

What we funded

We provided Ella’s with a 10-year secured loan of £160,000, towards purchasing a minimum two-bedroom flat to be used as a safe house for female survivors of trafficking and exploitation.

Impact

This new accommodation will increase the number of vulnerable women that Ella’s is able to support. In time, it will gradually introduce spaces exclusively to provide support for women with no recourse to public funds.

Without high-quality aftercare and a safe place to live, survivors are extremely vulnerable to falling into homelessness or back into exploitation, so this new accommodation really is something to celebrate.
