We're seeking expressions of interest for the role of consultant director of the Employment Legal Network (ELAN). We are keen to receive applications from independent consultants or organisations interested in hosting the role.
ELAN is a network of 60+ organisations working to help people in precarious, low-paid jobs understand more about their employment rights - and how to enforce them.
The network provides a space to share information and good practice, identify policy issues and work together on appropriate responses. ELAN also runs a mentoring scheme that helps to pair organisations with mentors, including retired employment judges, barristers and solicitors. Find out more about ELAN and its work here.
What we’re looking for
Trust for London is committed to supporting ELAN through 2025 and beyond. We're looking for an individual consultant or an organisation to lead the network, working two-three days a week.

Expressions of interest should be no longer than five pages and set out your:
- Vision for ELAN for the next three years.
- Understanding of the employment advice sector in London and labour rights issues faced by low paid workers.
- Commitment to ELAN’s approach.
- Relevant experience across multiple dimensions (for example, employment law and immigration).
If applying on behalf of an organisation, please explain how would hosting the consultant would align with your organisational objectives.
Please also include:
- Details of the proposed consultant(s) or organisational staff, including brief descriptions of relevant expertise, lived or learned experience and a CV.
- Budget including a breakdown of costs, expenses inclusive of VAT, and including staff costs and day rates (where applicable).
