A loan of £1.1m to open a new purpose-built nursery in Greenwich.

About London Early Years Foundation (LEYF)

LEYF is a charitable and social enterprise with nurseries across London. It especially focuses on areas where there wouldn’t otherwise be a high-quality nursery available.

It aims to give London’s children – especially those most in need – the best start in life, by providing access to high quality, affordable Early Years education and care. On top of this, LEYF uses its platform to campaign for fairer Early Years policies.

What we funded

We provided LEYF with a 10-year loan of £1.1m to establish a nursery in Thames Reach that provides high quality, affordable childcare.

Impact

This new nursery will increase the number of high quality, affordable childcare places available for families in the Thames Reach area. This improves children’s life chances and can help parents back into work.
