Amy Brooker
Amy is Public Affairs Lead at the Women’s Budget Group (WBG), where she leads engagement with policymakers and stakeholders across the political spectrum to strengthen the influence of feminist economic research and advance a gender-equal economy.
Amy has worked in public policy and research for over a decade. She began her career at the Confederation of British Industry, spending seven years working in Brussels and London across a range of policy areas, including EU trade and the Covid-19 response. She later moved into the women’s sector, joining Surviving Economic Abuse before taking up her current role at WBG.
In 2025, alongside her role at WBG, Amy was Senior Economics Researcher for Yuan Yang MP, supporting her work on the Treasury Select Committee and other parliamentary activity relating to economic and social policy. She holds a Master’s degree in Women and Child Abuse from London Metropolitan University, and her postgraduate research developed a new methodology to calculate the true extent of underfunding for rape crisis centres.
Coming from a long line of South Londoners, Amy spent many childhood weekends at Selhurst Park.
